Hugo Broos names 22-man Bafana Bafana squad to face Zambia

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has named his 22-man squad for the international friendly against Zambia scheduled to take place in Gqeberha on 15 November.

Broos has stuck to the bulk of his 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying squad that has done duty in recent months, with several foreign-based players called up despite the friendly nature of the fixture.

Aside from Sekhukhune United star midfielder Keletso Makgalwa, all departments remain consistent, with the Belgian explaining that he is focussed on preparing for next month's Africa Cup of Nations.

"We are preparing for AFCON, it's not the moment to be calling those players – Shandre is in the selection of 45-50 players. But changing things before a big tournament like AFCON is not a good idea."

Bafana will face Zambia at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, 15 November in the final FIFA international window of the year before the AFCON kicks off in Morocco on 21 December 2025.
