Hugo Broos disappointed by lack of support for Bafana

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos was disappointed to see so little support for his side in their international friendly match with the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday night.

South Africa won the game at the Orlando Stadium 1-0 with Burnley striker Lyle Foster on target in the 25th minute.

It was a welcome result for Bafana after a disappointing 0-0 draw with Nambia last time out but the result was diminished by the lack of fans supporting the team.

In fact, while Bafana's support was dismal, there was a large contingent of DRC supporters in the crowd in attendance.

Broos told SuperSport after the game: "First of all, I had the feeling it's an away game today. It's a little bit disappointing that again when you see today the stadium there were more supporters from Congo than for us.

"I hope in the future that we will have more support."

Broos added: "You see today also when you have the fans behind you what that can give. Congo believed even more, they grew in the game, they were supported.

"We have some very difficult moments and then you need them [the fans]. Again they were not there or not enough.

"That's a little bit disappointing, I hope in the future that we can have a better crowed than in the last two games."
