Harry Maguire not included in Man Utd's pre-season tour squad

Manchester United's 32-man pre-season tour squad does not feature defender Harry Maguire, who has a personal matter to attend to.

The defender featured in Saturday's goalless draw with Leeds United, coming on at half-time before being replaced later in the second half by youngster Tyler Fredricson.

The squad includes a blend of senior names, new signings, and academy prospects. Matheus Cunha will link up with the team following the birth of his second child, while Bryan Mbeumo is also set to join the group.

Injured duo Andre Onana and Lisandro Martinez will travel despite being unavailable to play. Martinez is continuing his recovery from an ACL injury sustained in February.

Five academy players have been included: goalkeeper Will Murdock, defender Reece Munro, midfielder Jack Fletcher, and forwards Ethan Williams and Bendito Mantato.

Williams spent the latter half of last season on loan at League Two side Cheltenham Town, while the other four were part of the youth team that reached the FA Youth Cup semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia have all been omitted from the travelling party. None of them has been training with the first team, and all are expected to leave the club this summer.

United will be based at Chicago Fire's training facility during the tour. Their first match is scheduled for Saturday against West Ham United at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
