Harry Kane bags hat-trick as Bayern Munich thrash Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich star Harry Kane continued his strong start to the season with three more goals in the Bavarians' 4-1 hammering of Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Kane has already scored nine hat-tricks for Bayern this season and nine in total since making the switch from Tottenham Hotspur two seasons ago.

His latest starring performance helped maintain the club's flawless start to the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign with four wins from their first four games, boasting a goal difference of +15 already.

Hoffenheim played well to start the game and it looked like it was going to be a tough outing for the defending Bundesliga champions, but everything changed when Kane broke the deadlock against the run of play moments before half-time.

It was a completely different story after the break, with Kane adding two more from the penalty spot in the 49th and 77th minutes.

Vladimir Coufal pulled one back for Hoffenheim in the 82nd minute before Serge Gnabry secured the win with a goal deep into stoppage time to set the final score at 4-1.

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga on Saturday, RB Leipzig overcame a spirited Koln to claim a 3-1 win at the Red Bull Arena.

Assan Ouedraogo opened the scoring for the home side in the 13th minute before Jan Thielmann got the plucky visitors back on level terms 10 minutes later.

Romulo restored Leipzig's lead in the 44th minute before David Raum made it 3-1 four minutes into stoppage time at the end of the first half, a lead the home side was able to defend effectively in the second half.

Freiburg humbled Werder Bremen 3-0 at Weserstadion with the goals being provided by Vincenzo Grifo from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute, Junior Adamu's 54th minute strike and a Karim Coulibaly own goal in the 75th minute.

HSV survived a late fightback to claim a 2-1 win over Heidenheim, while Mainz were able to claim an impressive 4-1 win over Augsburg away from home despite being reduced to 10 men in the 53rd minute after Dominik Kohr was sent off.
