Foster scored his first goal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco with a beautiful curler in the 79th minute.
He was greatly assisted by the super-sub Tshepang Moremi, and the Burnley FC striker says this sets them up nicely against Egypt in Agadir on Friday.
"We started really well and then we allowed Angola to grow into the game. During half-time we had to have a chat amongst ourselves and we decided to come out strong in the second half.
"Being in group stages in tournaments like this, the first game is always important. Now, we need to build on this result."
Just before scoring the winning goal, Foster had another good chance on the edge of the box, but he didn’t connect well with it, as it flew over the bar.
But the Burnley striker talks about the mentality of a good striker, quickly bouncing back to find the target...
"I hesitated with the chance before the goal, but with the second opportunity, I wanted to score even more and thank God luck was on my side and the strike was good."
Foster, who is also playing in his first AFCON after missing last year’s edition in Côte d’Ivoire, was happy with how they reclaimed the game from Angola in the second half and made their impressive spell count.
