Dortmund's Mats Hummels suspended for one match

Borussia Dortmund's central defender Mats Hummels has been banned for one game by the DFB sports court as a consequence of his sending off against Leipzig.

The 34-year-old will therefore not be available for BVB's upcoming away game in Augsburg (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.).

In the 2-3 defeat last weekend, Hummels was sent off with a red card by referee Sven Jablonski in the 15th minute after a foul on Leipzig striker Lois Openda.

The verdict in full: "The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) has suspended Mats Hummels from the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund from a championship game in the licensed leagues in the single-judge proceedings after the DFB control committee brought an indictment for unsportsmanlike conduct. In addition, the Player is also banned from all other championship games of his club until the ban expires."
