Darwin Nunez exits Liverpool to sign for Al-Hilal

Darwin Nunez has completed a permanent transfer from Liverpool to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, subject to international clearance.

The move ends the Uruguayan forward's three-year spell at Anfield.

Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer of 2022 and made an immediate impact, scoring on his competitive debut in the FA Community Shield against Manchester City, a match the Reds won to lift the trophy.

Over his time with the club, the 25-year-old made 143 appearances and scored 40 goals, helping Liverpool secure both the Premier League and Carabao Cup titles.

His first campaign in 2022-23 saw him net 15 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions, earning the Player of the Month award twice.

The following season, he scored 18 goals, including a memorable late double as a substitute against Newcastle United in a dramatic comeback victory.

Nunez's final term at Anfield, the 2024-25 season, ended on a high as he played his part in securing the Premier League title for Liverpool.

His combination of pace, power, and clinical finishing made him a constant threat in attack, while his work rate and determination won admiration from supporters.
