Chelsea return to league action at Stamford Bridge aiming to build momentum after last week's FA Cup victory over Hull City. Standing in their way are a Burnley side managed by former Chelsea midfielder Scott Parker.
Rosenior confirmed that Cucurella is still sidelined with a hamstring problem sustained just before half-time in the recent game against Leeds.
"I can't give an exact timeframe on Marc," he said. "He suffered a hamstring injury just before half-time in the Leeds game. It's a real shame because he's an outstanding player and one of the best left-backs in the world.
"It's a shame not to have Marc available but we have Jorrel Hato and Malo Gusto who can play on that side, so we have really good players that can cover. Of course, the sooner Marc gets back, the better."
There was more encouraging news regarding Palmer and club captain James, whose minutes have been managed carefully in recent weeks.
"With Reece and Cole, it's day by day," Rosenior explained. "In fact, it's not just those two but how each player feels.
"At the moment they are both fully fit and both available for selection. They both trained really well and having those two in the team makes us a really strong side."
With key players returning and options available in defence, Chelsea head into Saturday's fixture looking stronger and ready to push for three more Premier League points.
