Citizens come out on top against Urban Warriors in Cape derby

Cape Town City moved to second place on the DStv Premiership standings after a 2-0 win against Cape Town Spurs on Sunday afternoon.

The Urban Warriors began the match on the front foot applying pressure on the Citizens as they went in search of the opening goal.

However, Eric Tinkler™s side responded in the 35th minute when Katlego Mokhuoane executed a sublime free kick to put City ahead leading into the halftime break and claim his first goal for the club in the process.

It was a feisty start to the second half with tackles flying in thick and fast with boths sides failing to convert their chances.

This, before man-of-the-match Jaedin Rhodes netted a simple tap-in in stoppage time to seal the three points for the Citizens.

Despite creating decent opportunities, Spurs were unable to take advantage, which has plagued them throughout the first half of the campaign.
