As the new season kicked off with Borussia Dortmund securing just five points from their initial three matches, doubts had started to surface regarding Terzic's capacity to steer the club towards the coveted Bundesliga title. However, the club's top brass stands firmly behind their chosen leader.
Watzke addressed the pressing issue of Terzic's tenure at Dortmund during the European Club Association's general assembly in Berlin, making it abundantly clear that he is uninterested in fuelling any further speculation.
He underlined that his endorsement of Terzic was unequivocal and had been expressed several weeks earlier.
"I already addressed this matter a few weeks back," Watzke conveyed to Sky Sport. "I shall not engage in this discourse any longer, for it is unfounded. I have made my unwavering stance on Edin Terzic abundantly clear weeks ago."
Regarding Borussia Dortmund's rumoured interest in Julian Nagelsmann, Watzke firmly rebuffed such inquiries, asserting, "Henceforth, I shall exclusively entertain serious inquiries."
In an earlier interview with SportBILD, Watzke had publicly declared his confidence in Edin Terzic, affirming that Terzic is poised to remain at the helm of Borussia Dortmund for the long term.
This vocal support from the Watzke has consistently reinforced Terzic's position, particularly considering Terzic's deep-rooted connection to the club as a lifelong BVB supporter. Terzic assumed the role of permanent head coach before the previous season commenced.
In summary, despite the early-season turbulence, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke remains resolute in his support of coach Edin Terzic, quashing any doubts about the coach's future and emphasizing his pivotal role in the club's long-term plans.
