Arrows strike late to deny AmaZulu win

AmaZulu defeated KwaZulu-Natal rivals Golden Arrows by 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Usuthu took the lead in the 17th minute after Sandile Mthethwa scored a header from a Nkosikhona Radebe cross following a corner.

Both teams failed to create many clear chances in the first half, with Arrows striker Thokozani Khumalo coming closest to equalizing in the 32nd minute.

Abafana Bes'thende made a double substitution at half time as they tried to get back into the match against a stubborn AmaZulu defense, with Sabelo Sithole seeing his injury time strike miss the target by inches before Jerome Karlese found the equalizer deep into stoppage time.

The result sees AmaZulu move back into fourth position on the table while Arrows remain eighth.

TS Galaxy, Gallants woes continue after draw

TS Galaxy's winless run in the league continued following the 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Marumo Gallants at the Dr Molemela Stadium.

The home side took the lead from the penalty spot after a Sedwyn George handball, with Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo converting from the spot in the 17th minute.

The Rockets went on the attack seeking an equalizer and were eventually rewarded when Seluleko Mahlambi scored ten minutes before half time.

A physical battle ensued in the second half with plenty of fouls given away by both teams as they fought to get a winner which resulted in Gallants defender Mbhazima Rikhotso being sent off in the 69th minute.

Both teams resorted to speculative efforts and had to settle for a draw which leaves TS Galaxy in 12th spot while Bahlabane ba Ntwa remain 15th.

Polokwane consolidate top eight spot after stalemate

Polokwane City moved up to sixth position on the league table following the 0-0 draw against 11th placed Richards Bay at the Richards Bay Stadium.

Rise And Shine now need four points from their remaining two matches in order to seal a top eight spot while Richards Bay are guaranteed top flight football next season after getting the point.
