Golden Arrows won their first match of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership against Stellenbosch while newcomers Milford held Polokwane to a 0-0 stalemate on Wednesday evening.

Arrows break goalless draw streak against Stellenbosch

Ivorian striker Sede Dion scored a decisive winner for the second match in a row as Abafana Bes'thende claimed their first win in the league this season against Stellenbosch at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium.

The two teams headed to the first half break deadlocked at 0-0 with Stellies captain Sage Stephens making the only notable save in the 14th minute from a close range Thokozani Khumalo strike with Stellenbosch youngster Raoul Daniels firing over ten minutes later as the visitors looked for an opener.

However, Arrows resolute defence maintained their discipline before another quick transition was finished with a diving header by in-form forward Dion in the 70th minute.

The result sees Pitso Dladla's side move to sixth spot on the league table, while Stellebosch slip to 11th position.
