SABC Sport can reveal that Banyana Banyana midfielder Noxolo Cesane is joining French club Stade de Reims.

She will be the fourth player from the squad that clinched South Africa™s maiden Women™s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) title two months ago in Rabat to get an overseas deal.

Her teammates - Jermaine Seoposenwe (Mexico), Refiloe Jane (Italy ) and Janine Van Wyk (Greece) - all signed for new teams abroad recently.

Cesane™s imminent move was initially confirmed by the University of Western Cape, her Hollywoodbets Super League side, late on Thursday night but without revealing where in France she will be playing.

Cesane, still only 21, spent four years at UWC.

SABC Sport understands that she is already out of the country and expected to be announced by Reims soon after her visa application was approved to begin her journey in Europe.

Her twin sister Sinoxolo is on the books of USA outfit Chattanooga Lady Red Wolves SC.

During the Wafcon it was clear that Cesane is a core member of coach Desiree Ellis™ squad and she was quite influential in helping them to win the continental title.

She has already penned a goodbye message to UWC.

œOver the past four years, UWC has been my home, providing me with the platform to develop as a human being, a student and a football player. But now it is time to say goodbye, she wrote.

œI™d like to thank coach Thina, Xolile Madikane (Cape Town Roses) and everyone else who has supported me in taking these next steps in my career outside South Africa. These opportunities also would not have come without the support and encouragement of everyone in the Banyana Banyana family. I am grateful. The months ahead will be exciting and a fantastic opportunity for me.
