Teto left TS Galaxy for Livingstone after impressing the club's manager David Martindale during a mid-season training tour in Turkey in December 2022. He’s spent the past few weeks at home in Scenery Park, East London on a short break after another mid-season break in Turkey. As he returns to Scotland today, Teto also shares what he’s already learned on that side.
"So far, so good I'm enjoying being home, being with my family. I've been doing some extra work to be back on the pitch hopefully for the next round. It's [Scotland] different from the level and how they do things. They different from all levels so it's a very good place to be as a footballer where you can develop and learn more," Teto said.
Teto, a special talent who hails from the Carlos Soccer Youth Development programme in East London, before joining Bidvest Wits juniors and TS Galaxy, transferred to Scotland only at the age of 19. The BBC quoted Martindale saying in August last year----"He really is a special talent that is so different from any other 20-year-old I have coached or seen previously in Scotland."---, this says more about the special talent of Teto.
"My first week was okay but second week, third week, a month, it was a bit hard because the team was already in half of their preseason, so I just got there and I had to do my own staff. They had to put me on the side to do my preseason stuff. So, it was a bit hard," Teto added.
Asked by SABC Sport how Livingstone discovered him, Teto says it was during TS Galaxy's camp in Turkey.
"They saw me in Turkey where we played some games there. So, they saw me there and then that was it. I heard coach [Sead Ramovic] saying there are people who were looking for me and that's how they found me."
