Alejandro Garnacho included in Man Utd tour squad despite uncertain future

Alejandro Garnacho has been named in Manchester United's squad for their post-season tour of Asia, despite growing speculation over his future at the club.

The 20-year-old winger was left out of the matchday squad for United's 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season - a decision that followed Garnacho's public frustration at being benched during the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

Sources close to both the player and the club have told ESPN that Garnacho could depart Old Trafford this summer if a suitable offer is made. His representatives are expected to meet with United officials in the coming weeks to discuss the next steps.

Despite the ongoing uncertainty, Garnacho has travelled with the squad to Asia, where United will face SEAN All-Stars and a Hong Kong select XI. The team, led by Ruben Amorim, departed for the tour on Sunday evening.

The Argentine international, who attracted interest from Chelsea and was the subject of a rejected bid from Napoli in January, is considered one of United's brightest young talents. However, questions over his role and playing time have prompted speculation around a possible move away.

Garnacho wasn't the only notable absentee from Sunday's squad. Andre Onana and Luke Shaw also missed the Villa match but are part of the touring group. Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee have also made the trip despite nursing minor injuries.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martínez, Noussair Mazraoui, and Leny Yoro have all been ruled out due to injury. Mazraoui, who started against Villa, was forced off in the first half with a hamstring issue.

United's post-season tour is expected to provide clarity on several squad matters as the club prepares for a pivotal summer both on and off the pitch.
