Albert Gronbaek injury blow for Bundesliga strugglers Hamburg

The 25-year-old former Rennes player suffered a torn muscle while playing for Denmark in the 3-2 Nations League defeat to Norway.Gronbaek was a substitute in the match and only made an appearance in the 82nd minute as a replacement for Mikkel Damsgaard but could not complete the tie.

He is now set to miss the next two Nations League games against Wales and upcoming clash with Portugal next week.

Gronbaek had started his season well with Hamburg, weighing in with two goals and two assists in five games across all competitions this campaign.

When asked about the player, Denmark head coach Brian Riemer simply confirmed the news, telling Bold: "He's injured and will leave the camp."

Gronbaek has since returned to his club where a MRI scan that showed a torn a muscle in his right thigh.
