The result does not help their fight against relegation, with Gallants remaining in 15th position and just one point ahead of 16th-placed Magesi FC with three matches remaining.

Mathiane believes the game was there for the taking and says they need to do better in their final three games to save themselves.

"Truly speaking, I'm quite disappointed. I'm very disappointed with the result, we all believed that this was a game for us to win," bemoaned the coach.

"So we just have to go back to the drawing board and work hard so that we can win our last three games, and it's still possible so we just have to motivate the boys so they can work hard and get the positive result."

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa will face Richards Bay at home, Polokwane City away, and Stellenbosch FC at home in their final three fixtures of the season.

The former Golden Arrows defender also pointed to Tshepo Rikhotso's red card as the reason they lost control of the game, having sit back and absorb pressure from their opponents.

"I think we played very well, and in the second half we just got that red card so we were unfortunate and I can't falter the boys, they did their best," he added.

"It's just that once we got the red card, it was a bit difficult for us and we had to play a low block and get out on the counter, so it's part of football, it happens that you get a red card."
