Stormers still stuck in Cape Town due to travel issues

The Stormers have been dealt a potential blow after logistical issues prevented them from departing for their Champions Cup quarter-final clash against Exeter Chiefs as scheduled.

The Cape Town outfit were due to depart for England to play Exeter this weekend after booking their place in the last eight by defeating Harlequins on Saturday.

However, SArugby.co.za reported that the Stormers were still in Cape Town on Tuesday morning due to issues with their flight, and will now face a long-haul journey with multiple stops before arriving in the UK.

This delay has made an already challenging task even more difficult for the Stormers, who will face the 2020 Premiership Champions on their home turf, with the Chiefs benefiting from a few extra days of preparation.

The Chiefs secured their place in the quarter-finals by beating Montpellier in the last-16 round.

The quarter-final clash is scheduled for 6:30pm South African time on Saturday.
