Stormers enlist Aussie rules specialist to help sharpen aerial skills

The Stormers have turned to a former Australian rules football player and coach in a bid to improve their skills under the high ball.

The Cape Town outfit has brought in Steven 'Morro' Morris, who played Richmond Tigers in the AFL from 2012 to 2017 before staying with the club in various coaching roles.

Morris will join the Stormers on a short-term basis, focusing on improving their aerial skills after they came off second best in that area of the game in last month's clash with the Sharks in Durban.

Dobson thinks Morris, who has a deep background in Aussie rules where aerial contests are central to the game, will provide fresh expertise to help the Stormers stay ahead in this crucial area of the modern game.

The Stormers return to action for another local derby against the Lions in Johannesburg on 28 February.
