Rain postpones both men's and women's Washington Open finals until Monday

The tantalising final between world number three Jessica Pegula and fast-rising star Alexandra Eala entertained the crowd for an hour before the weather rolled in. The pair swapped breaks in the opening set before Pegula broke again late in the set to secure the lead.

In the second set, players are on serve and Pegula will return with the balls with Eala 2-1 up. The Filipina is seeking her maiden WTA Tour title.

Meanwhile, the men's final between Taylor Fritz and Rafael Jodar will take place after the completion of the women's final.

The third-seeded Fritz and 19-year-old star Jodar each earned three-set semifinal wins on Saturday. Fritz won their only prior meeting earlier this year in Delray Beach, earning a 7-6(4), 6-4 victory.
