The active fighter and Aquila Boxing Promotions Ambassador declared that the Sandton Convention Centre will stage the biggest boxing show of the year on South African soil. Lerena also previewed one of the most anticipated fights of the year…

Aquila Boxing Promotions is less than two years old, but it has already made a major splash in the local boxing scene with big name cards and innovative twists on the traditional sweet science, like the Knockout Clock.

The 7^th of November will not only feature the return of the only man to have defended the WBC belt in South Africa, but JD Pypers and Jarred Silverman will finally be able to get their hands on one another in the ring. The fight was pinned for July, but it had to be postponed after Pypers pulled out due to an orbital blowout fracture. This is what he had to say after signing the new contract.

“Jarred Silverman, I can’t wait to see what this dutchman is going to do to you. I’m ready and I can’t wait to beat you on fight night.”

Silverman issued a stinging response in this ongoing war of words.
