Chiefs, who finished the game with 10-men after Mozambican defender Edmilson Dove was shown a straight red card at the beginning of the second half, following a professional foul on Gabadinho Mhango. Chiefs, who are yet to score in three matches this year, have also gone four matches without a win in all competitions.

Chiefs interim head coach Cavin Johnson once again expressed his unhappiness with this result.

''We as Kaizer Chiefs - again we're not happy with ourselves, we need to be more clinical - we do that in little patches with the game.

''But again we did not concede which is a plus, but it's not good enough for us coming from a loss - now we need to pick ourselves up,'' said Johnson.

Chiefs have not scored in their last three matches and this was against teams that have been conceding a lot of goals in other matches.

This past week, Johnson tried to address their goal-scoring challenges, which have seen Amakhosi only scoring 16 goals in 18 league matches. He admits that their goal-scoring problems are a serious concern.

''It's alway been a concern since I started, because football is only nice when you see goals.

''All my life I said if you score 2 goals against me I score 3 goals, if you score 6 and then I score 7. That's what I work on wherever I am, but we will come alright,'' added Johnson.

Chiefs attackers appeared to be under pressure to deliver in this game and lacked composure in the final third, rushing their chances and failing to create clear chances.

Johnson doesn’t think that his strikers are suffering from anxiety but jokingly says he might have to be more visible on their social media platforms, with the hope that this will put them at ease.

"It's not about anxiety, it's a mentality thing. Because you guys write about it on social media and that affects the players,'' he concluded

Swallows, who have been struggling with off-the-field things like financial and disciplinary issues in their camp, missed an opportunity to register their first win since just before Christmas against Royal AM.

The Bird’ interim head coach Musa Nyatama also admits that they could have made use of the one-man advantage.

''I must say, I'm happy with the point, but not so happy - I think we could have done better, in terms of finishing the chances we created.

''It's not easy to play against a big team like Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium, but we take the point and move away with it,'' said Nyatama.
