What remains now is to decide the Group K winners, with the Atlas Lions currently leading the standings with six points, while South Africa are two points adrift in second spot.

After initially naming a 34-man preliminary squad a fornight ago, Broos has retained the bulk of the team that did battle in the back-to-back qualifiers against the Lone Stars two months ago, with TS Galaxy midfielder Bathusi Aubaas the only addition.

Aubaas comes in for Burnley striker Lyle Foster, whose omission is understood to have been by request, with The Clarets having already reported back for pre-season ahead of their return to the Premier League in 2023/24.

There is no place for DStv Premiership top goal scorer and Cape Town City forward Khanyiso Mayo, despite his impressive domestic season, while Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm also doesn't make the cut after he replaced US-based Njabulo Blom in the previous camp.

Bafana and Morocco will square off at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 17 June, with the match to be broadcast LIVE on SABC Sport - details TBC.
