The 27-year-old was without a club when he got the call from coach Sead Ramovic to leave South America and relocate to one of the reputable leagues in Africa.

Vidal, who is a bit of a journeyman, has been pleasantly surprised by what he has seen in his short spell so far.

"The level is very high, the intensity very good. You can see many good players in the league. You can see [Mamelodi] Sundowns the way they play, the way they win many cups, it's amazing. It's good to see many good players in the league and also to share in Brazil that level that many of them don't know. So I'm happy to be here,” he said.

Having played in Greece, Indonesia, Israel, Lithuania and native Brazil since turning professional, Vidal adds he’s found the pace of the PSL his biggest challenge.

'I'm still adapting because it's not the same pace as Europe. Here the pace is high, the intensity is really high. But I'm getting used to it, step by step."

Vidal dismisses the popular notion South Africa and Brazil have similarities in their playing style.

"Brazil is low, and more technical, but the pace is very low it's not like here. Of course, you have some players here that are similar to what we have in Brazil."

The midfielder is quite a skilful player and therefore doesn’t mind the showboating he has come to witness in the PSL.
