Jovic was imperious as she powered through to her second WTA Tour title via a comprehensive 6-4, 6-2 scoreline over Stearns in Mexico.
The duo traded to 4-4 in the opening set before Jovic broke and held serve to secure the set. Jovic continued her momentum into the second set to go 2-0 up and another break at 5-2 all but sealed the deal. Jovic served out the match, ripping a backhand winner. Stearns failed to earn a break point in the face of Jovic's accurate serve.
The title comes one year after her first WTA Tour title at the same venue when Jovic was just 17.
"It's amazing to be back here in the final with this beautiful trophy and this sombrero," the 18-year-old said during the trophy presentation.
"I love it here. You guys have given me so much energy. The crowd is my favourite thing about coming here, so thank you so much for being here.
"I'm just happy with the improvements I've made throughout the year. I think I've shown that I'm a more complete and better player than I was this time around last year."
