Fans upset about Novak Djokovic's exclusion from ATP awards

Despite his impressive achievements in 2023, Novak Djokovic has been overlooked by the ATP Tour Awards for both the ATP Sportsmanship Award and the Fans' Favourite Award.

Fans have lauded the Serb's sportsmanship this year, especially in defeat, but his name is notably absent from the nominations for the ATP Sportsmanship Award.

Even though he is the most decorated modern player, Djokovic consistently faces an annual setback in winning broader tennis fan popularity awards.

The ATP Sportsmanship Award, historically dominated by Roger Federer (13 wins) and Rafael Nadal (five wins), emphasises Djokovic's consistent absence. Last year, Casper Ruud's recognition further underscores Djokovic's omission.

The Fans' Favourite Award, bestowed on the most popular player, has also eluded Djokovic. Despite his stellar 2023 performance, winning three Grand Slam titles, securing the year-end world No. 1 ranking, and triumphing in the ATP Finals in Turin, Djokovic remains consistently overlooked for this award.

While Djokovic's vocal social media fanbase expresses frustration at his exclusion, the world No. 1 is no stranger to such treatment, having grown accustomed to these omissions.
