DR Congo boxer Jason Medi chasing big fights in 2026

Super Middleweight and light heavyweight rising contender, Jason Medi is training twice as hard in the hopes of securing big name fights in 2026.

Medi stopped Tanzanian fighter, Azizi Mponda back in November on a Boxing 5 Promotions card, a result that has taken his record to twelve wins and two losses on the pro-scene.

Medi knew he needed to deliver a statement in his last fight to potentially set up big matchups this year.

“After my last fight, 2026 has been good so far, and I’m glad to be back in the gym. We are chasing belts and big names this year," said Medi.

“All that we can do is work hard and hope for big fights to fall my way. I’m feeling very much different this year because I want tough fights and opponents who will challenge me.”

Whether it be in the super-middleweight or light-heavyweight division, Medi is eager to fight the likes of Dylan Prosser, John Bopape, or the SA light-heavyweight champion, Bryan Thysse.

He also indicated that he will gladly accept any international fight, but for now he continues his grind in the gym together with his trainer Chris Morrow and waits for the call to action from his manager, Colin Nathan.
