Cape Town Tigers chances at the BAL Season 4 playoffs

The Cape Town Tigers are anticipating a hard and tough game against Lbyian side Al Ahly Ly in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) Season 4 playoffs in Kigali, Rwanda, later this evening.

It’s been a long wait for the Tigers to see if they will make it to the playoffs after they finished outside the top two in the inaugural BAL Kalahari Conference.

They have since qualified for the playoffs as the best placed team from the three Conferences. Tigers Guard Samkelo Cele looks at their chances in this game.

"They are a very good team, I think I should start there but the preparations for them have been great. I've watched a lot of film, you know we watched a lot of film together with the team. I've sat down with some of my guys on the side individually to try and game plan on what we should do because they are very great defensive team and just a great team overall. They play very hard," Cele said.

The winner in this tie will meet the winner of tomorrow's game between tournament favourites Al Ahly from Egypt and Moroccan side FUS Rabat. Cele says Al Ahly Ly also have very good players.

"They've got two guys, they've got the leading scorer in the BAL. One of the other guys is a really good scorer too so that's probably gonna be a good challenge for us and me in particular because I'll probably be on him. So, yeah they're gonna be physical, they're gonna be aggressive defensively and offensively so I think just neutralise that and rebound and run the floor and I think we'll be fine," Cele added.
