The eagerly anticipated event is sold out, with 5 000 runners expected to take part.
With a winning prize of R20 000 in each elite race, the Boxer Super Run is the highest-paying 5km race in the country and is expected to attract some of South Africa's top athletes.
The athlete, who is coached by renowned long-distance running coach Michael Seme and trains alongside Stephen Mokoka, believes the event brings together runners of different backgrounds and experience.
"The Boxer Super Run Joburg attracts both elite and social runners, showing how much running is growing in Joburg. The vibe is always amazing, and I entered because I enjoy 5km racing and want to be part of such a big event in Joburg," Sosibo told SABC Sport.
"My goal is to run smart, have a controlled start, a strong middle and a fast finish. With 5km racing, you need speed, but also patience."
Sosibo is also looking forward to experiencing the Johannesburg route and the support from spectators.
"The route in Joburg is exciting, with great crowd support. I'm looking forward to experiencing it. With such a strong field and a great prize purse, my goal is to be competitive and fight for a top position," she added.
She will face familiar rivals, including Glenrose Xaba, who edged her out of the Spar Women's 10km Grand Prix series title at the same venue last month.
