Alaba began light running in mid-October and, more recently, returned to full training, wearing boots and working with the ball, a positive sign for manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has been grappling with defensive shortages.

Although Alaba's return to full fitness remains a few months away, reports suggest he could be back in action by early January.
