Yashasvi Jaiswal hits century as India seal ODI series clean sweep against Afghanistan

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a century as India cantered to a nine-wicket victory in the third ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai as the hosts sealed a clean sweep in the three-match series.

Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 110 from 86 balls, his second hundred in his sixth ODI appearance, as India comfortably chased down a target of 219 with more than 20 overs to spare.

Rohot Sharma struck a 79 off 69 deliveries and shared in an opening stand 170 in 22.5 overs with Jaiswal before losing his wicket to off-spinner Mohammad Nabi.

Shreyas Iyer (20 not out) then kept Jaiswal company as India knocked off the target in the 29th over.

Afghanistan were earlier bowled out for 218 in 44.2 overs with Hashmatullah Shahidi scoring a maiden ODI century, eventually falling for 102 in 131 balls, while Azmatullah Omarzai contributed exactly 50.

India seamer Prasidh Krishna finished with career-best figures of 5-23 in 8.2 overs while Gurnoor Brar, Prince Yadav and Harsh Dubey all chipped in with a wicket apiece.

The win caps off a dominant series for hosts India as they beat Afghanistan by seven wickets in the first ODI before a 170-run victory in the second match.
