Veterans left out of Australia's white-ball tour to Pakistan and Bangladesh

Cricket Australia have made several bold calls in the announcement of their touring squad for six ODIs and three T20Is in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Regular ODI captain Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc will not feature in either Pakistan or Bangladesh due to Indian Premier League commitments, while veterans Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis also miss out on the subcontinental action.

Instead, the trio of Ollie Peake, Liam Scott and Joel Davies earn maiden call-ups for different parts of the three-leg tour, which begins with three ODIs in Pakistan from 30 May to 4 June. Australia will then travel to Mirpur in Bangladesh, with the first of three ODIs starting on 9 June.

The experienced Mitchell Marsh will captain the group for the entirety of the series, while spinner Adam Zampa and all-rounder Cameron Green also feature throughout. The dangerous Travis Head will only play in the Bangladesh leg of the tour due to his IPL contract.
