Shivam Dube shines as co-hosts India remain unbeaten at T20 World Cup

Shivam Dube hit a career-best 66 off 31 balls as co-hosts India remained unbeaten at the T20 World Cup following a 17-run victory against the Netherlands in Ahmedabad.

Dube struck four fours and six sixes in his knock as the home side posted a total of 193-6 after winning the toss and opting to bat in their final group encounter.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 34, Tilak Varma scored 31 and Hardik Pandya hit a quick-fire 30 as India eventually went over the 190-run mark.

Netherlands spinner Aryan Dutt, who bowled three overs in the powerplay, was teh best bowler on show for the Europeans with figures of 2-19 in his four overs.

India then took regular wickets in the as the Dutch batters faltered in the run-chase and only reached 176-7 after 20 overs.

Bas de Leede top-scored with 33 off 23 balls but the Netherlands could not cope with the spin of Varun Chakravarthy, who took 3-16 in three overs.

India remain favourites to win the global tournament and kick off their Super Eight stage against South Africa on Sunday.
