CSA T20 Challenge: Boland secure top spot after comfortable away win

Defending a target of 169, seamer Glenton Stuurman recorded fabulous figures of 4-16 in four overs as the home team were bowled for 121.

It was a feeble batting effort from the Tuskers with only number 4 Sean Gilson showing any kind of fight with a run-a-ball 44 while Bamanye Xenxe struck a quick-fire 23 late on.

It was a disciplined bowling effort from the men from the Cape Winelands with spinner Imran Manack economical, only conceding 13 runs and taking two wickets in his four overs.

Earlier, Ferisco Adams rescued Boland with an unbeaten 51 off 35 balls as the visitors posted a total of 168-6 in their 20 overs after electing to bat first at the toss.

Adams walked to the crease in the eighth over with the score on 68-4 and then saw Jhedli van Briesies (22) also lose his wicket to make it 91-5 in 12th over.

Keith Dudgeon provided good support for Adams as the duo put on a stand of 54 for the sixth wicket which ultimately proved to be match-winning.

Boland will now host the Qualifier against the second-placed Warriors on Tuesday.
