CSA T20 Challenge: Boland maintain winning form after crushing WP in Cape derby

Boland made it three wins from three in this season's CSA T20 Challenge after crushing Western Province by 65 runs in the Cape derby played at Boland Park on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 174, Western Province quickly put under the hammer by the hosts as they slipped to 26-6 in the first six overs.

It was a catastrophic start to the batting innings from the visitors as home seamers Glenton Stuurman (3-20) and Keith Dudgeon (3-11) made their mark.

Western Province did show some fight with Juan James (52 off 33 balls) registering a maiden half-century in the shortest format.

Boland spinner Imran Manack though made sure his team would walk away with a bonus-point victory picking up three late wickets to end the contest.

The hosts had earlier posted a total of 173-5 in their 20 overs with Lehan Botha top-scoring with an unbeaten 52 off 36 deliveries.

In contrast to their visitors, all of Boland's top-order made contributions with opening pair Gavin Kaplan (32) and Grant Roelofsen (24) among the runs.

Batting at number 3, home captain Clyde Reeves-Fortuin scored 30 before Botha and Ferisco Adams (18 not out) finished off the innings with a flourish.
