The win, Canada's fifth on the bounce, sealed their place at the top of the table - regardless of what happens in the final two matches. With the USA already pre-qualified and out of the picture, Canada were clear favourites - and they delivered with ruthless efficiency.
The hosts dismantled the Bahamas for just 57 runs in 19.5 overs, thanks to a lethal bowling trio. Kaleem Sana was nearly unhittable, taking 3 for 6 in four overs. Ansh Patel chipped in with 2 for 7, while Shivam Sharma cleaned up the tail with 3 for 16.
Chasing the modest target, Canada needed just 5.3 overs to finish the job. Dilpreet Bajwa smashed an unbeaten 36 off 14 balls to lead the charge and underline Canada's dominance in the tournament.
This marks Canada's second straight T20 World Cup appearance, having qualified for the 2024 edition via the same regional route. Next year, they'll take the field in India and Sri Lanka, alongside heavyweights like hosts India and Sri Lanka, plus Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, USA, and West Indies.
With one game left-against Bermuda on Sunday - Canada have already made their biggest statement: they're not just qualifying. They're coming in hot.
