Captain Shai Hope, Roston Chase, Akeal Hosein and Sherfane Rutherford return to the squad from that series against Afghanistan as they had SA20 commitments.
The Windies will play the Proteas in three T20Is, starting in Paarl on Tuesday, ahead of the global tournament.
At the T20 World Cup the Windies will play Scotland in Kolkata on 7 February followed by further group matches against England (February 11), Nepal (February 15), and Italy (February 19).
